Crushing on Plyhome
I'm always on the lookout for cool NZ companies, and well, this one ticks all the boxes.
Started a few years ago by Wellington based Comms Manager Anna Gilhooly, Plyhome was set up to fill a gap in the market for flatpack kids furniture, that did away with the hours it took to assemble with an Allen key and multiple tiny parts to lose.
"We really don't like metal screws on furniture (it instantly ruins those beautiful clean lines!) and don’t see why furniture should chip, wobble, feel flimsy and be made from chemically loaded material coated in chemically-loaded finishes." says Anna.
The result: some WICKEDLY designed pieces that are very on-point with the Scando look, as well as being environmentally, asthma, and kid friendly.
